What We Believe

Statements of Faith

THE BIBLE

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God to men. (2 Tim. 3:15; 1 Pet. 1:23-25; Heb. 4:12)

ONE TRUE GOD

The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternal “I AM”  embodying the ideals of relationship and love by simultaneously existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4; Mark 12:29, Is. 43:10, 11; Matt. 28:19)

REDEMPTION

Humanity was created good and upright.  Humanity fell, by choice and our only hope of redemption is Jesus Christ. (Gen. 1:26-31; Gen. 3:17; Romans 5:12-21)

hope of salvation

The grace of God freely offers the hope of salvation to all through the work of Jesus by His death and resurrection.  By faith, all who accept this free gift are then justified by grace becoming an heir of God and the promise of Eternal life.

life of holiness.

The inward evidence to the believer of his salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit. (Rom 8:16)  The outward evidence to all men is a life of holiness. (1 Thes. 4:7; 2 Tim. 1:9)

Baptism

Baptism is the outward confession of the inward commitment.  The picture of being immersed in water is a parallel to Christ’s death, burial and resurrection.

Communion

Communion is a time we remember what Christ did for us on the cross and look forward to when we can share communion with Him after his return. We follow his example by using the bread and fruit of the vine, which symbolizes His body and blood.

abundant life

All believers should expect and seek the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. Thus comes the ability to live an abundant life of service and love. As a body, we receive the gifts necessary to accomplish our mission.

Great Commission

The Church is a gathering of believers moving out with one purpose- to carry out the Great Commission. (Acts 1:8, Matt. 28:19-20)

We believe God heals.

Everyone has an eternal destination.  For those who accepted the free gift of Jesus, their destination is eternal life with God in heaven.  For those who rejected God’s gift, their destination is eternal death.
